Here at the Atlantic Council, we recognize that working to benefit people, prosperity, and peace for all globally requires committed public servants. A year ago in 2019, Dr. Greg Treverton and Dr. Molly Jahn, as well as (the would be future GeoTech Center Director) Dr. David Bray, and other authors released the result of a year-long study that analyzed the impact of numerous long-term trends in the United States' government workforce over a period of two decades.

Earth Day 2020 call for action: Mitigating the global food crises associated with COVID-19

At the beginning of April, the Atlantic Council GeoTech Center published an data-driven analysis examining “Global food security during COVID-19”. This follow-up report dives into three specific food security concerns informed by that data and presents three solutions that world leaders can implement now to get ahead of the negative impacts of COVID-19 on the global food supply.

Dr. Peter Brooks is a senior researcher and national security analyst at the Institute for Defense Analyses, a federally funded research and development center. For more than two decades, Dr. Brooks has contributed to the understanding of critical national security issues for a wide range of government agencies. His broad expertise includes intelligence analysis; advanced technologies and applications; joint force analyses, experimentation, strategy, and cost assessments.

Dr. Brooks’ recent work includes a four volume study delivered to Congress and other leaders that addressed the global spread of technology and scientific knowledge and the implications for national security.  He is widely published and a frequent speaker, including fifty technical reports and journal articles; contributing editor of corporate annual reports, and one-hundred invited presentations.
