United KingdomStephanie Burrell is a 2025 Millennium Leadership Intensive participant and head of sustainability at Smart DCC, the organization running the United Kingdom’s smart meter data network, where she leads their Responsible Business program. Her work is purpose-driven and aims to drive positive environmental and social impact. Previously, she was the forest economy lead at the World Economic Forum, where she led an initiative to accelerate the transition towards harnessing the full ecological, economic, and social potential of nature. Prior to joining the World Economic Forum, she was a technology consultant at Accenture. She has a first-class BA in biological sciences from the University of Oxford and a master’s degree in global affairs from Tsinghua University, where she studied as a Schwarzman scholar. Burrell has represented the United Kingdom at the Youth G20 and was a member of the Sutton Trust Alumni Board, a charity aiming to improve social mobility and address educational disadvantage.
