Steven Kryger is an investment associate at Bridgewater Associates. He heads Ray Dalio’s research team, and serves as co-head of Research Analytics, overseeing talent management for the team of over 150 people that generates investment insights for the world’s largest hedge fund. His areas of research expertise include debt cycles, the rise and decline of reserve currencies, populism, and how countries develop. He was Ray Dalio’s main co-author on “Principles for Navigating Big Debt Crises”.

Kryger is also the founder and Senior Sponsor of Bridgewater’s LGBTQ group. Prior to his current role, he was a Senior Analyst in Bridgewater’s Client Service group, doing portfolio analysis for sovereign wealth funds and pension providers. Kryger graduated from Yale with honors in Political Science and Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations (specializing in Egyptology), and was awarded the Thatcher Memorial Prize for Public Speaking. Kryger grew up in Manitoba, Canada.
