On September 23, 2019, Pepe Zhang was quoted in an Agencia EFE article, “El BID celebrará el ‘dinamismo’ de Latinoamérica a sus 60 años” (“The IDB will celebrate Latin America’s ‘dynamism’ at its 60th anniversary”).
Quoted in Spanish, Zhang’s commentary translates as follows: “The IDB is the oldest regional bank, and it has always been very agile. It has been a pioneer, for example, in the relations between Latin America and Asia long before both sides’ commercial ties became closer in the 21st century with the emergence of China”.
