The Wall Street Journal quotes Rafik Hariri Center Senior Fellow Amy Hawthorne on US counterterrorism strategy and the resignation of Yemen’s President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi:

“We invested a lot in President Hadi and we invested a lot in parts of Yemen’s military,” said Amy Hawthorne, a former State Department official who is now a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Rafik Hariri Center for the Middle East. “We invested in certain partners and now those partners are incredibly weak.”
