Anadolu Agency quotes Global Business and Economics Program Director Andrea Montanino on the heightened competition among international banks in light of the presence of the Asian Infrastructure and Investment Bank (AIIB):

 “There would be more competition and this will imply that both the World bank and the Asian Development Bank will probably improve the way they work,” Andrea Montanino, director of Global Business and Economics Program at the Atlantic Council told Anadolu Agency.

“Clearly energy and infrastructure are important areas. Competition will be between private financial institutions and multilateral development banks,” he said, adding that financial institutions and multilateral banks will work towards obtaining more deals as they will be reluctant to leave the role of financing infrastructure to China through the AIIB.
