On Wednesday, June 3, Anna Wieslander, Director for Northern Europe, was interviewed by Deutsche Welle News about Russia’s increasing focus on the Baltic Sea and its implications for NATO.
Regarding Russia’s plan to redraw the Baltic Sea borders, Dr. Wieslander comments: “This is a classic Russian tactic. It’s part of their shadow war designed to intimidate create insecurity, doubts and tension. The next step would be to act on that and say that they need to increase security for the tensions they have created.”
