The Atlantic Council seeks a motivated, talented, and creative Managing Editor. This post is responsible for developing a content strategy for and overseeing the production of all editorial products produced by the Atlantic Council both online and in print (blogs, reports, publications) as well as for ensuring that these products are successfully executed by the Communications group and the broader Council team.

The managing editor will use their experience in writing, editorial production, and publications to expand the reach of the Council’s products across a variety of platforms (website, aggregators, news apps, social media, etc.), engaging both internal Council experts and external writers, editors, and designers to create compelling, relevant content on the issues central to the Council’s work.

The managing editor will be expected to drive editorial strategy, oversee content production, and provide occasional editing and writing support for the overall editorial team. S/he will report to the Vice President, Communications. The ideal candidate will have experience working in media, be an experienced and skillful writer and editor, and have management experience from a media organization, a think tank or nonprofit, or in government.
