Summit to mark NATO’s 70th anniversary by convening defense and security leaders to discuss future of alliance amidst rise in global challenges

Washington — Nearly seventy years to the day after President Harry Truman signed the North Atlantic Treaty and established the world’s strongest political-military alliance, the Atlantic Council, the German Marshall Fund, and the Munich Security Conference, in partnership with NATO Public Diplomacy Division, will host “NATO Engages: The Alliance at 70,” a summit that will bring together NATO leaders, European and US defense officials, and foreign policy experts in conjunction with NATO’s April ministerial meeting in Washington.

Taking place on Wednesday, April 3, the town hall-style, scene-setting event will feature a series of conversations on the state of the alliance at seventy, its key accomplishments, and will look toward NATO’s future as it grapples with next-generation threats and geopolitical uncertainty.

Confirmed speakers and further details on timing will be released in the coming weeks and updated here: https://nato-engages.org/
