United States and Canada

The United States has enjoyed an unparalleled period of peace and prosperity since the end of the Second World War, due to its construction of a rules-based international order and maintenance of close alliances and partnerships. Canada has been a key partner for the United States, both due to their close economic links and their shared border, the world’s longest at 5,525 miles. Canada is also a key NATO ally for the United States and is active in international diplomacy around the world.

Obama’s Three Layered Foreign Policy

By Judah Grunstein

While James Joyner and others argue that President Barack Obama’s foreign policy so far represents a great deal of continuity with the final two years of the Bush administration, I see not so much an either/or comparison between the two, but rather a multi-layered model of Obama’s foreign policy.

By Heritage

From Heritage: Rasmussen’s experience working at the heart of the European Union gives him an inside edge on how best to reshape NATO-EU relations.
