Reporters at risk

This event series focuses on the threats posed to journalists—and how they are able to remain resilient and continue to inform the public.

The Reporters at Risk event series features the stories of journalists, editors, and other correspondents who have been on the leading edge of journalism around the world and conveys the stakes and sacrifices that they undertake to deliver the news. Often stationed on the front lines of crisis and conflict, correspondents face physical, psychological, and political threats across assignments and over the course of their careers, including harassment, violence, imprisonment, and more.

In 2023 and 2024, the Reporters at Risk series raised awareness for the plight of Wall Street Journal Reporter Evan Gershkovich and mobilized support for his release from Russian detention. Today, the series continues to advocate for a free press and the protection of dedicated journalists working across the globe.
