Cassandra Roper is a 2022 Atlantic Council Millennium fellow and supports the establishment of innovative exportable training solutions for her international customer base through the Global Training Services team at General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. Roper also supports General Atomics’ Energy Group with their strategic outreach to Capitol Hill.

Previously, Roper was a presidential appointee and lead program analyst in the Office of the Under Secretary for Nuclear Security—Administrator of the National Nuclear Security Administration, the semi-autonomous agency within the Department of Energy that maintains the security and effectiveness of the US nuclear weapons stockpile, prevents nuclear weapons proliferation worldwide, and provides nuclear propulsion to the US Navy.

Additionally, Roper worked for the US House of Representatives for members of Congress chairing the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee and serving on the House Armed Services Committee to shape policy affecting the lives of veterans and active-duty service members alike. Roper graduated from New York University with a bachelor of arts degree in French language and a bachelor of arts degree in psychology.
