On Tuesday, January 6, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. ET, the Atlantic Council’s Europe Center will host a conversation with Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs, and Development Cooperation Maxime Prévot on his vision for shaping the next chapter of the transatlantic partnership.
Belgium counts the United States as a close and enduring ally through robust economic ties with over $75 billion in annual trade, a security partnership through NATO, and a strong technological relationship. However, uncertainty dominates the future of the transatlantic relationship, including on the future of Europe’s trade and security relationship with Washington.
Prévot joins this conversation to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the US-Belgium relationship and the direction of the transatlantic partnership in 2026 and beyond.
New policy: In-person attendees will be required to show photo ID upon arrival, and no on-site registration will be permitted. Guests will not be admitted later than twenty minutes after the event’s start time. Registration for this event will close at 5:00 p.m. ET the day prior.
