On Wednesday, October 22 at 3:00 p.m. ET, the Atlantic Council’s Transatlantic Security Initiative will host a fireside chat with Troels Lund Poulsen, the deputy prime minister of the Kingdom of Denmark and Danish minister of defense.
As Russia’s war in Ukraine rages on and NATO allies move to assume more of the burden for the defense of Europe, Denmark continues to play a leading role on major issues confronting the transatlantic alliance. As part of this effort, the Danish government recently announced a new $4.2 billion defense investment package focused on Arctic defense while continuing to partner with other European allies to provide needed support for Ukraine.
During this conversation, Poulsen will highlight Denmark’s role in Arctic security, discuss its priorities for the Nordic-Baltic region, and share his perspective on the path ahead for US-Danish defense relations.
New policy: In-person attendees will be required to show photo ID upon arrival, and no on-site registration will be permitted. Guests will not be admitted later than twenty minutes after the event’s start time. Registration for this event will close at 5:00 p.m. ET the day prior.
