The Annual U.S.-Japan Roundtable Virtual Washington Conference

Mapping Pathways to Net Zero and Energy Security

Co-sponsored by The Howard Baker Forum and The Atlantic Council Global Energy Center

It is our pleasure to invite you to attend the virtual meeting of the U.S.-Japan Roundtable’s three-day Annual Washington Conference, from:

Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at 7:00 pm EST – Thursday, December 17th, 2020, at 7:00 pm EST

Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at 9:00 am JST – Friday, December 18, 2020 at 9:00 am JST

The U.S.-Japan Roundtable is co-hosted by the Howard Baker Forum and the Atlantic Council. This is the 13th year for the Roundtable and its Washington Conference, which was founded by Senator Howard Baker. It has served an important role as the leading assembly of American and Japanese business executives and government officials devoted to expanding safe, secure nuclear power worldwide, to securing cyber security in the energy sector, and to encouraging innovation in energy technologies.

This year our focus will be on the role of nuclear energy in decarbonization and energy security. The discussions at this year’s U.S.-Japan Roundtable will—over the course of three days—center on forging the path to net zero, achieving energy security in the Asia-Pacific, and redefining geopolitical relationships in the 21st century.

The audience will consist of approximately 175 American and Japanese energy industry stakeholders. The Howard Baker Forum, which sponsors the Washington Conference, provides a platform for examining specific, immediate, critical issues affecting the nation’s progress at home and its relations abroad. Established under the leadership of Senator Baker, the Forum continues to organize a variety of programs and research projects to examine and illuminate public policy challenges facing the nation today.
