Please join the Atlantic Council’s Global China Hub on Thursday, April 7, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. EDT for a discussion between Asia Society President and CEO and Former Prime Minister of Australia Kevin Rudd and Atlantic Council President and CEO Frederick Kempe on managing strategic competition to avoid war between China and the United States.

This discussion will draw on insights from Prime Minister Rudd’s new book, The Avoidable War: The Dangers of a Catastrophic Conflict between the US and Xi Jinping’s China. With more than forty years studying, living in, and working with China, Prime Minister Rudd will offer his insights into the mindsets of US and Chinese leaders, identify dynamics driving the most critical flashpoints in the relationship, and propose new guardrails to help prevent strategic competition from spiraling into armed conflict.
