Join the Atlantic Council Veterans Advanced Energy Project on Friday, June 25 from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM EDT for the first Michigan Veterans in Advanced Energy Community Event. Panelists will share their insights on veteran employment in the advanced energy sector as well as the role of veteran employee resource groups in supporting former servicemembers develop their careers.

Michigan ranks within the top fifteen states for total veteran population, and as home to the big three automakers and some of the largest utilities in the nation, the state has a significant opportunity to promote veteran employment in the growing advanced energy sector. As such, Veteran Resource Groups within utilities have been instrumental in providing training, resources, and networking opportunities for military veterans interested in rewarding careers.

Veteran panelists from DTE Energy and Consumers Energy will provide their insight on these topics; participants are encouraged to engage in discussion with questions and comments of their own and to take an active part in the conversation. Panelists and participants will discuss the challenges and opportunities for military veterans and transitioning servicemembers to find rewarding careers in Michigan that support the broader transition towards clean energy.

You will be able to join this conversation via the web application Zoom, which is accessible through your web browser, the Zoom desktop or mobile app, and by phone. Please register below to receive the Zoom access information for this event.
