On March 2, Atlantic Council IN TURKEY & Turkey Programs Senior Director Defne Arslan moderated a ministerial panel on regional energy security at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. The Antalya Diplomacy Forum took place in Antalya, Türkiye between March 1-3. The panel, Shifting Paradigms in Energy Security, focused on a range of topics including Türkiye’s role in the regional energy transition, regional energy security, the role of nuclear and SMRs, and the energy ambitions and projects of key regional actors Romania, Hungary, Azerbaijan, and Türkiye.

The panel featured; H.E. Zafer Demircan, Deputy Minister of Energy, Republic of Türkiye; H.E. Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Republic of Hungary; H.E. Sebastian-Ioan Burduja, Minister of Energy, Republic of Romania; H.E. Kamal Abbasov, Deputy Minister of Energy, Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Atlantic Council in Turkey aims to promote dialogue and strengthen transatlantic engagement with the region through research, programming and high-level discussion forums to address critical issues around energy, economics, business, and security.
