Since the US overthrew Saddam Hussein nearly two decades ago, Iraq has struggled to form an independent democratic government and construct an economy not overly tied to its powerful neighbor and former bitter rival, Iran. The Atlantic Council’s Future of Iran Initiative and Iraq Initiative invite you to a conversation about the political, economic and cultural ties and irritants between these two pivotal Middle Eastern nations and the outlook for their relations in the future.

The discussion will be held via Zoom on Monday, July 25, 2022, from 1:00 – 2:30 pm ET. A link to the meeting will be sent to those who register to attend. The event is open to press and on-the-record.
