On Friday, January 17 at 10:00 a.m. ET, the Atlantic Council’s Europe Center will host a conversation on what to watch in the Western Balkans in 2025.

The year 2025 will be decisive for the Western Balkans and its long-term Euro-Atlantic trajectory. Balkan countries face a moment of geopolitical convergence and upheaval, with parliamentary elections in Kosovo in February and Albania in May, growing student protests in Serbia, the thirtieth anniversary of the Dayton Accords, and the arrival of a new US administration.

The Europe Center will convene an expert discussion on how regional leaders can make the most of 2025 and navigate the region’s challenges ahead. The conversation will also explore what the United States and Europe should do in prioritizing their engagement with the Western Balkans.

This event is part of the Europe Center’s #BalkansForward Initiative, which promotes the Western Balkans’ political and economic advancement through Euro-Atlantic integration.

This conversation will take place virtually on ACTV, YouTube, X (formerly known as Twitter), Facebook, and LinkedIn. To attend virtually, please register above.
