Robert Habeck is Vice-Chancellor, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of the Federal Republic of Germany and directly elected Member of the Bundestag for Flensburg-Schleswig electoral district 1. He was born in Lübeck in 1969, and studied philosophy and literary sciences in Freiburg im Breisgau, Roskilde (Denmark) and Hamburg. Robert Habeck has been a member of Alliance 90/The Greens since 2002, chairing the party from 2018 until 2022. Prior to this, he spent six years as Minister and Deputy Minister President of Schleswig-Holstein; his last position in that period was Minister for the Energy Transition, Agriculture, the Environment, Nature and Digitalisation.
