Carrie Lee is a senior advisor at the Atlantic Council and a member of the Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security.

With a background in global finance for infrastructure and transportation development, Ms. Lee co-founded Pine Street Alternative Asset Management LP to seed hedge funds in various stages of development. Ms. Lee was also an attorney with White & Case LLP’s Energy Infrastructure Project Asset Finance Group, focusing on multiple jurisdictions in North and South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia, and has served as a legal advisor at Buchalter Nemer for multinational mergers, acquisitions, and disposition of companies.

Ms. Lee has spent fifteen years working in the Himalayas, spearheading over a dozen humanitarian projects to educate and empower the next generation of leaders and protect and preserve the region’s diverse array of microcultures and natural resources. She has focused on the distribution and execution of critical aid in tenuous border regions riddle by conflict and natural disasters, particularly after the 2015 Nepal earthquake. She continues to advise local stakeholders and communities on developing effective solutions for stabilization in a region constantly facing threats of aggression, extremism, and environmental and medical crises across the Himalayan mountain belt between Central and East Asia.
