NASA needs a twenty-first-century approach to space exploration

Space Technology & Innovation

Emily Sespico is an Associate Director at the Atlantic Council’s GeoTech Center, where she leads the team’s international space policy portfolio—driving engagement with space industry and government leaders worldwide to advance space technology innovation and champion orbital longevity and public benefit.

Before joining the GeoTech Center, Sespico built her expertise across the space policy ecosystem through internships at NASA, the US Department of State, and the US House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. A proud Pittsburgh native, she holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Astrophysics and International Relations & Politics from Carnegie Mellon University, a combination that grounds her policy work in both technical fluency and geopolitical insight.
