Raphaela Schweiger is a participant in the 2025 European Leadership Accelerator hosted by the Atlantic Council’s Millennium Leadership Program. She is a leader in philanthropy and an expert on global governance and migration. She serves as director at the Robert Bosch Stiftung, one of Europe’s largest philanthropies, where she oversees programs on migration and immigration society, focusing on social cohesion, inclusion, refugee protection, climate mobility, digital technologies, and global cooperation. In 2023, she was selected as a Yale world fellow in recognition of her contributions to advancing an inclusive migration system and her role in philanthropy. From 2021 to 2025, Schweiger chaired the European Philanthropic Initiative on Migration, Europe’s largest collaborative fund dedicated to migration. She serves as chair and board member of the Doris Wuppermann Foundation, supporting youth-led initiatives for democracy in Germany. Schweiger continues to advise national governments, local policymakers, civil society leaders, and the United Nations, contributing to cross-sector collaborations. Schweiger is the author of Beyond States: The Global Compact for Migration and the Role of Non-State Actors and Cities (Springer VS, 2023) and holds a doctorate in political science from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg.
