Ryan Morhard is a 2025–2026 Millennium fellow and is global public policy lead at Takeda Pharmaceuticals. Previously, he directed policy and partnerships at Ginkgo Bioworks, focusing on biotechnology applications for sustainability, health, and defense. Prior to that, at the World Economic Forum, Morhard led work on biosecurity, published on global risks, and curated engagements with world leaders focusing on geopolitical issues. Earlier in his career, Morhard served as branch chief for international partnerships at the US Department of Health and Human Services, coordinating partnerships to respond to public health emergencies and serving on the delegation to the Biological Weapons Convention. Morhard is a center affiliate with the Center for International Affairs and World Cultures at Northeastern University, an adjunct professor at the Georgetown School of Foreign Service, and a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He has degrees in law and neuroscience.
