On October 6, IPSI Nonresident Senior Fellow Naoko Aoki was quoted in a Bloomberg article titled, “Kim Jong Un’s Silence as Missiles Fly Shows Strategy Shift.” In a conversation on North Korea’s silence on recent tests as it focuses on advancing its goal of a credible nuclear strike, Aoki explained, “The big picture here is that North Korea is pursuing a longer-term goal to improve its nuclear and missile arsenals both qualitatively and quantitatively.”
