Audience member Jason Healey of the Atlantic Council told Inside Cybersecurity that Obama’s speech was great and did not disappoint.
Healey mentioned he would have liked to see big-picture, sweeping presidential statements of policy in Obama’s speech and stronger language on cybersecurity in the recently unveiled National Security Strategy. But he also praised the administration for making incremental cyber policy improvements.
“The White House has been doing . . . a lot of small steps over the last year and I’ll tell you the small steps have really added up to pretty good progress over the past 18 months,” Healey said in an interview on campus immediately following Obama’s speech.
