On March 3, Forward Defense Nonresident Senior Fellow Samantha Vinograd was appointed by President Joseph Biden as a Member of the United States Holocaust Memorial Council.

The United States Holocaust Memorial Council was established by Congress in 1980 to commemorate the Holocaust and raise private funds for and build the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. After it opened in 1993, the Council became the governing board of trustees of the museum.

Forward Defense, housed within the Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security, generates ideas and connects stakeholders in the defense ecosystem to promote an enduring military advantage for the United States, its allies, and partners. Our work identifies the defense strategies, capabilities, and resources the United States needs to deter and, if necessary, prevail in future conflict.
