As the global community continues to grapple with the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Atlantic Council is open for business. Our business, meetings, and events, however, are occurring virtually. For more information, please read an update from our President and CEO.

Please join the Atlantic Council Global Energy Center on Thursday, December 3 at 10:00 PM EST/ 4:00 PM CET for the Fall 2020 Offshore Wind Roundtable, a virtual private event that will focus on the key opportunities and challenges for US offshore wind development, as well as lessons learned from countries around the world.

The Fall 2020 Offshore Wind Roundtable will bring together local, federal, and international stakeholders to lay out the value proposition for offshore wind development, explore the economic potential for local communities, and share insights from mature and rapidly developing markets. The event will be divided into two thematic panels, the first of which will focus on the economics impacts of the offshore wind industry on local US communities, while the second will focus on lessons learned from mature and developing offshore wind markets across the globe.

The US offshore wind market is projected to take off in the coming decade, opening the door to economic opportunity and contributing to overall US energy security. A well-tuned regulatory environment around permitting, environmental assessments, and fiscal incentives is vital to the timely deployment of offshore wind technology, as evidenced by mature offshore wind markets in other parts of the world such as Northern Europe.

You will be able to join this conversation via the web application Zoom, which is accessible through your web browser, the Zoom desktop or mobile app, and by phone. Please register below to receive the Zoom access information for this event.
