As the global community continues to grapple with the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Atlantic Council is open for business. Our business, meetings, and events, however, are occurring virtually. For more information, please read an update from our President and CEO.

Food security for the MENA countries is a strategic issue, which has primarily been tackled by securing a steady supply through international investments in farms, distributors, and commodity traders. The combination of agriculture, entrepreneurship, and advances in new technologies and data creates new opportunities for increasing local production which could yield a double bottom line impact through the improvement of food security while simultaneously driving local entrepreneurship. AgriTech innovations are also poised to transform the food landscape worldwide.

The Atlantic Council’s GeoTech Center and empowerME initiative will convene a virtual, on-the-record roundtable event on Wednesday, June 9th from 9:00-10:30 am ET/4:00-5:30 pm AST/5:00-6:30 pm GST to assess existing and up-and-coming opportunities in the AgriTech space, the right approaches for the region/particular countries, and the policy approach needed to spur investment and partnerships in the right areas.
