Charlotte Bertrand is a project assistant for the GeoStrategy Initiative in the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security, where she focuses on the strategy portfolio.
Before GeoStrategy, Bertrand served as a young global professional with the Scowcroft Center’s Forward Defense Initiative, covering the defense strategy and military operations and defense industry and innovation portfolios. Prior to Atlantic Council, she worked in open source intelligence collection for US Central Command, interned for Speaker Emerita Pelosi, and supported commercial disruption efforts at the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy.
Bertrand is currently pursuing a master’s degree in security studies from Georgetown University. She previously graduated cum laude from Georgetown with a bachelor of science in foreign service, during which she studied abroad in Argentina and authored a paper on political mobilization under military dictatorship. She is a native French speaker and has professional working Spanish proficiency.
