Julien Touati is acting as Corporate Development Director of Meridiam that he joined in 2011. He is responsible for Meridiam strategic developments, covering key initiatives of the company. He has been in particular leading the strategic development of Meridiam in Africa and is an Investment Committee member of Meridiam Infrastructure Africa Fund. He is currently leading the development of Meridiam in the Energy sector in Europe.
Julien is also active in Europe where he leads in particular Meridiam activities in the energy sector and sits at the Investment Committee member of Meridiam Transition Fund, a fund dedicated to funding projects contributing to the energy transition in Europe.
Julien has infrastructure and public sector experience, having previously worked at the French Ministry of Finance’s Agence des Participations de l’Etat (APE), where he was responsible for managing the French State’s shareholding in Electricité de France. Prior to APE, Julien was Deputy Head of the European Strategy Unit of the French Treasury. Julien also worked for Veolia, a leading global utility company, and for the infrastructure division of Proparco, the French Development Finance Institution.
Julien holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering from the Ecole des Ponts in Paris, a Master’s Degree in Energy Economics and a Master of Public Affairs also from the Ecole des Ponts in Paris. He teaches Energy Regulations at Sciences-Po Paris.
