Kipkorir Koskei is a participant in the 2025 European Leadership Accelerator hosted by the Atlantic Council’s Millennium Leadership Program. He is the director of strategic partnerships and policy at the Insurance Development Forum, a public-private partnership led by the insurance industry and supported by the World Bank and the United Nations. In this role, he leads engagement with governments, multilateral institutions, and the private sector to advance the use of insurance and risk financing in strengthening global resilience to climate and disaster risks, in alignment with the UN 2030 Agenda.

Koskei has over a decade of experience in financial and disaster risk management, debt underwriting, and country risk assessment, gained across global and regional financial institutions. He has worked extensively with governments, insurers, supranational organizations, and banks to design, structure, and underwrite innovative risk financing solutions and derivative transactions. His career spans Nairobi, Johannesburg, London, and Tokyo, providing him with deep expertise in diverse financial markets and regulatory environments.

Koskei has helped develop and implement various programs, such as the Integrated Disaster Risk Management Alliance, which combines the expertise of development finance institutions and insurers together with the Africa Disaster Risk Financing Programme housed at the African Development Bank, supporting African governments in integrating insurance solutions into national planning strategies.

He holds a Master of Laws with a finance concentration from University College London and a law degree from the University of Warwick. Additionally, he is a graduate of the University of Oxford’s Climate-Related Financial Program. Kipkorir is a fellow of the African Natural Capital Alliance.
