On October 12, Markus Garlauskas, the former US National Intelligence Officer for North Korea and nonresident senior fellow with the Asia Security Initiative, was quoted in New York Post for his remarks on North Korea’s new intercontinental ballistic missile shown during the military parade on Saturday. Garlauskas commented that the new missile would erase any remaining doubts that Pyongyang could hit the United States.
“If the Hwasong-15 could carry a ‘super-large’ nuclear warhead to anywhere in the U.S., then the natural question is what can this larger missile carry?,” he said.
