Overview

The Atlantic Council’s Bretton Woods 2.0 Project examines the deep challenges facing the Bretton Woods Institutions and works to reimagine the governance of the international financial system.

Bretton Woods 2.0 Fellowship

The Bretton Woods 2.0 fellowship provides opportunities for mid-career economists passionate about reimagining the governance of international finance for the modern global economy.

Led by the Atlantic Council GeoEconomics Center, the Fellowship develops a network of experts around the world who play leading roles in shaping the architecture of global economic governance.

This Fellowship aims to cultivate forward-thinking insights and solutions to reform the global landscape of economic governance through masterclasses and policy engagements with leading experts in the field. Publishing their research alongside the IMF-World Bank Meetings, the fellows are uniquely positioned to contribute to real-world policymaking.

Meet the 2025/26 cohort

The 2025/26 cohort consists of two global economists with expertise in economic multilateralism and its relations to multilateral institutions, private sector, academia, government, and nonprofits.

From August 2025 to April 2026, the Fellows will conduct in-depth research and interact with high-level experts, identifying gaps and challenges in the architecture of global economic governance. Their research will culminate in a series of policy memos and reports published alongside the 2026 IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings to shape the policy discussions around international financial institutions.
