The US government will host the second Summit for Democracy the week of March 27, 2023, with in-person components in Washington, DC, and in the capitals of the four cohosting nations: Costa Rica, the Netherlands, South Korea, and Zambia. The Atlantic Council is producing a series of events and conversations throughout the Summit week featuring work from the Digital Forensic Research Lab (DFRLab), Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security, and more.

This series of events and reports rounds out two years of ongoing work focused on the state of democracy in the world, the impact and governance of technology in that context, and approaches to bolstering human rights globally. Below, find additional information on events with the Freedom Online Coalition, the Summit’s official democratic technology cohort, civil-society leaders, high-level government officials, industry representatives, and more.
