About

Harare, Zimbabwe, served as the first stop for the Freedom and Prosperity Center’s Women for Prosperity project. In partnership with Advisory Council Member Joanna Sharpe, the Center organized a two-day event from October 9 to 10, featuring a capacity building conference for emerging women business leaders, followed by a policy workshop identifying trends and proposals to facilitate women’s economic participation and foreign direct investment.

October 9 was attended by over 100 women entrepreneurs and featured informative business training sessions, the launch of a one-year mentorship program for 11 selected women entrepreneurs paired with global advisors, and special remarks by Zimbabwe’s Minister of Women Affairs Monica Mutsvangwa. Day two was headlined by a fireside chat with Mthuli Ncube, Zimbabwe’s Minister of Finance and Economic Development, and also featured panel discussions with experts from international organizations, NGOs, and the private sector.
