Marie Jourdain is a nonresident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Europe Center. Before that, she worked for the French Ministry of Defense’s Directorate General for International Relations and Strategy. There, she served at the North America Desk, focusing on US defense policy with Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. She was particularly involved in fostering the US-France strategic defense talks. Her previous work experiences include countering illegal drug trafficking through regional cooperation in the Caribbean. She also served in the French Joint Staff on military cooperation with the United States and the United Kingdom. 

While attaining her bachelor’s degree from the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po), she studied for a year at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. She holds a MA from Sciences Po in international security.
