On August 4, IPSI nonresident senior fellow Ryo Hinata-Yamaguchi was quoted in Business Insider regarding Japan’s strategic review. He addressed challenges like recruitment issues in the Japan Self-Defense Forces and suggested that while expanding and integrating the reserve force could be a solution, this would require legal adjustments and civilian cooperation.
