Assessing China's impact

Over the course of this project, we bring together American, European, and Asian officials, academic experts, and thought leader to effectively scope the problem of China’s rise for transatlantic relations across the security, economic, and technological realms. Through a series of workshops focusing specifically on issues of security, trade, technology, intellectual property, and other relevant topics, our workshops highlight key areas of convergence and divergence between the United States and Europe with respect to managing China’s rise.

Scenario planning for China's rise

Having mapped key areas of divergence and convergence, we are focusing on better articulating alternate futures on how China is likely to impact the future of transatlantic relations. Through scenario planning methodology and a series of workshops and tabletop exercises, we aim to define key drivers of Chinese actions in the security realm and identify possible futures for which the transatlantic community will have to prepare.
