About the Program

Climate change is one of today’s most urgent challenges—if left unaddressed, its damaging effects will jeopardize the viability of future societies everywhere. Developing climate solutions is costly but non-negotiable and will require diverse leaders who can adeptly manage the financial processes necessary to create a more sustainable future.

Considering the growing ecosystem of climate investors in the United States, European Union, and China, it is crucial to ensure that innovation efforts are not developed in silos in order to minimize redundancy and maximize opportunities for partnership to advance systemic climate solutions at scale. It is critical to include African investors in this mix as the African continent is slated to see an increase in climate threats and offers a dazzling web of local green innovation.

Our team believes that systemic challenges are best addressed by globally connected networks working collaboratively to developed shared solutions. There is no more systemically complex and global challenge than climate change, which demands business and political leaders to work in greater alignment than ever.

The Climate Leadership Program aims to build a one-of-a-kind network of climate finance practitioners across four continents to mobilize resources, share experiences, build solutions, and create practical application guides. The Program will convene thirteen climate-focused venture capital fund managers and other climate finance practitioners from the United States, China, European Union, and African Union for combined programming including a virtual leadership development deep-dive and an in-person strategy session in Accra, Ghana, in the summer of 2023.

Participation in the Program, including travel and accommodations in Accra, Ghana, is covered for the selected participants.
